I read in today's Utusan regarding pencarian Gadis Melayu programme. Ok, memula baca i dah duk wonder what is Gadis Melayu, and will this programme give justice to the definition of Gadis Melayu. When reading thru the article, obviously not i believe.

The criteria , as mentioned in the news - `..memasak, mengemas rumah, melipat kain, menyanyikan lagu-lagu irama asli, mengenal rempah ratus..' Masyaallah.. is that what being a Gadis Melayu all about??!

That is soooo damn shallow!!

Even as a kid, i always thot being a Gadis Melayu meant soo much more than just being a perfect housewife. Back then i always read about Tun Fatimah and other Malay female idols, and to me, being a Gadis Melayu means being strong, berpendirian tegas, berani kerana benar, graceful when we need to yet not lembik, love taking risks..

I dunno, i maybe wrong, but i love to believe that those are the reason i'm in this world, not just to equip myself to just becoming perfect wife.

Omigod..kelakar.. If memasak, lipat kain and what not is the criteria of a gadis Melayu, then what am i..?

Oh yeah, i forgot, i'm a Bugis, not melayu anyway.
